We will have presentations from Farm Service Agency (FSA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), and AgriLife Extension covering their various programs that are available to help producers. They will be highlighting any of those programs that help with Climate Smart Practices. We will also have presenters covering Texas AgrAbility, the BattleGround to Breaking Ground Program, Rural Business Ideas, and basics of Agriculture Business planning.\nIntroduction to Hydroponics Workshop\nWorkshop 2 – Saturday, October 12, 2024\nOur second workshop option will dive into an Introduction to Hydroponics that concentrates on:\n\nUnderstanding hydroponic concepts,\nClimate-smart practice,\nEquipment, and infrastructure,\nManaging hydroponics system components,\nSelecting and planting crops,\nManaging nutrient levels and other inputs,\nManaging pests and diseases, and\nHarvesting.\n\nThere will be an opportunity for hands-on learning in the areas of setting up a deep-water culture hydroponic system, planting, and harvesting.\n
