Team RWB Bataan Memorial Death March (Local)

We will honor the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II for their sacrifice by rucking 4.2, 14.2, or 26 miles. The date of this event coincides with the in-person event at White Sands Missile Range, NM. You also have the option of registering for the virtual event (see link below). Be sure to bring a hydration source, and pack snacks, extra socks, blister care, sunscreen, and a hat for longer distances. Check your weather app the day before and dress appropriately. We plan to have at least 2 water points along the route. Check the Team RWB app and the Team RWB Clarksville/Fort Campbell Facebook page for updates. Wearing a rucksack or backpack is the standard of the Bataan Memorial Death March. The categories are heavy (35lb+) or light (no extra weight). Allow extra time if you need to obtain a visitor’s pass.

Update: The start/end will be at the trailhead on the corner of Thunderbird and 101st Airborne Division Road where the 2 helicopters are displayed. This is next to the Byrd Army Clinic and across the street from Gardner Hills Express. If you DON’T need a visitor pass enter the address 7973 Thunder Blvd, Clarksville TN 37042. If you DO need a pass, first go to the TC Freeman Visitor Control Center. Keep in mind only Gates 4, 1, 7, and 10 will be open on Sunday. 81 years ago, American and Filipino prisoners of war were force marched 65 miles under brutal conditions through jungles in the Philippines after surrendering to Japanese forces. Approximately 10,000 American and Filipino service members were killed during the march and those who survived faced hardships as prisoners of war.
